Few minutes ago I received the MVP Award email from Microsoft.

this is my second year as SQL Server MVP. I believe that this award achieved because of my dedication in Microsoft BI Stack and SSIS.

Regular Expressions are very useful expressions for text processing

there are many usages like validation a text against a pattern or find appropriate parts of text with defined patterns which can be solved with Regular Expressions.

Today I find a simple case of such things in SSIS, SSIS will act great if combined with Regular Expressions.

Messaging is one of the most useful features of SSIS.

Actually if you want to make a robust and fault tolerant package you need to design logging on errors and warnings properly. there are some options for send notifications in SSIS; Send Mail Task, Script Task ( scripting exactly any type of message ) and Notify Operator Task.

In this post I'll show you how to use Notify Operator Task.

Finally the SQL Server MVP Deep Dive Volume 2 going to be available soon .

There are lots of times which you need a "Gregorian to Persian ( Shamsi ) Converter" in t-sql.

below code will convert gregorian date string for example 2011-08-25 to persian or shamsi date string for example 1390-06-03 .

just note this code will work on sql server 2005 or above because I used the Floor function.

this is a short overview of session:

SSIS Programming seems to be a common week part of SSIS Developers, But programming knowledge and experience will bring the ability to make SSIS packages robust without many limitations.
In this session all aspects of SSIS programming from design and development to deployment and run packages will be explained with real world samples.
A background from C#/VB.Net Programming language and SSIS is asset to attend at this session.

Using dynamic t-sql is one of the good abilities in SQL Server, and there are times which you need to do this in SSIS.

Suppose you have a data stream in SSIS Data flow task and you want to run a dynamic t-sql query per each data row values, probably your first stop is OLE DB Command to run the sql statement per each data row, but OLE DB Command has a problem with dynamic statements, So you should use other ways,

In this post I'll describe the problem of OLE DB Command with dynamic t-sql, and propose two solution to do this with other transformations or tasks.

how can I check if data is exists in destination table then update it, otherwise insert new records.

This Scenario named Upsert in common ( Update / Insert ),

there are lots of ways to do it, but in this post I'll describe how to do it with Lookup Transform.
